Crisis Line Counselor |
| Description: |
Volunteers will be answering telephones to provide crisis intervention, referrals, information, shelter intake and information on Turning Point services to callers. The function of this position is to support shelter and crisis line staff meet the needs of survivors. |

Must complete Turning Point’s 40 hour Core Volunteer Training |

Resident Advocate |
| Description: |
Volunteers will be assisting staff meet the needs of shelter clients. This can include light cleaning, organizing, working in the kitchen/pantry, transportation, providing referrals and providing support for staff. When working with the families and women in shelter you may be providing crisis intervention, referrals and information as well. Our shelter houses women and their children and working in this setting provides a diverse volunteer experience. |

| Position: |
Child Care Advocate |
| Description: |
Volunteers will be assisting staff meet the needs of the children in shelter. This position may include light cleaning, organization or other projects that arise in the children’s department. Working with children can consist of providing childcare for mothers in shelter or while they are in group, playing with children, helping children with homework, assisting in field trips or organizing special events/parties. |

| Position: |
First Response Advocate |
| Description: |
Volunteers working in this program respond to sexual assault survivors in area hospitals and at the forensic nurse examiner site. Volunteers are paged, respond to page and go to location dispatched to by the crisis line. Volunteers will be providing emotional support to survivor, advocacy, referrals, and information on Turning Point services as well as follow up intervention as needed. Additional First Response training will be provided after the core training and is a requirement. |

Personal Protection Order Advocate |
| Description: |
Volunteers will be providing advocacy, assisting with paperwork, answering questions, providing referrals, and crisis intervention to individuals seeking a Personal Protection Order. |
| Training: |
Must complete Turning Point’s 40-hour Core Volunteer Training |
| Time: |
4 hours per week |

Court Advocate |
| Description: |
Volunteers will be providing advocacy, assisting with paperwork, answer questions, providing referrals, and crisis intervention to individuals going through the criminal justice system. |

a minimum of 4 hours per week |

| Position: |
Support Group Facilitator |
| Description: |
Volunteers will work with support services to co-facilitate groups for survivors of both sexual assault and domestic violence. This position requires previous experience and/or 6 months of crisis intervention experience. Additional group orientation will be provided. |
